Beatrice Ellen Nutbrown

Beatrice Ellen Nutbrown, 85, of Dalton, died Monday, March 3, 2025, at Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility.

Born in Pittsfield on November 18, 1939, daughter of George Tubbs and Hazel Gaylord Tubbs Dimitropolis, she was educated in the Pittsfield Public Schools.

Mrs. Nutbrown was primarily a homemaker, but at one time worked as a Nurse's Aide at the former Dalton Nursing Home, leaving that position in 1970.

She was a member and active volunteer at the United Methodist Church of Dalton. She enjoyed baking cakes for special occasions.

Mrs. Nutbrown wed her husband, William E. Nutbrown, on June 12, 1954. He predeceased her on March 20, 1971. She leaves her son William R. (wife MaryLou) of Lenox; son James M. of Pittsfield; 3 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, Robert F. Tubbs of Pittsfield. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Nutbrown was predeceased by her sons Edward W. and Ronald G.; sisters Frances, Evelyn, and Barbara; and brothers George H. and Ernest J. Tubbs.

Funeral Services for Beatrice E. Nutbrown will be held Friday, March 7, at 11:00 A.M., at DERY FOLEY FUNERAL HOME officiated by Rev. Ronald L. Franklin, Pastor of United Methodist Church of Dalton. Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Ashuelot Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to the Dalton Ambulance Fund in care of the funeral home, 890 East Main St., Dalton.
