Brian David Kierstead

1958-2012 PITTSFIELD Brian David Kierstead, 54, of 175 West Housatonic Street, Pittsfield, passed away Friday, November 16, 2012 at home.

He was born in Pittsfield on March 13, 1958, the son of the late Wayne E. and Dorothy E. Jardus Kierstead. He grew up and was educated in Dalton and was a 1976 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School.

Brian had been employed as a carpenter with Berkshire Roofing, Bohlen-Reis, Inc., and most recently Johnston Builders in Pittsfield for nine years until 2010. He enjoyed sports and was an avid New England Sports fan.

Brian is survived by his daughter and her husband: Heather and Michael Ferreira, and his grandson: Jackson, of Massena, N.Y.; his two brothers, Scott Kierstead and his wife Kathy Kierstead of North Adams, and Todd Kierstead and his wife Pamila Kierstead of Mint Hill, N.C.; aunts and uncles: Betty and Jack Hanlon of Holden, Michael Jardus of Brookline, and Edward Jardus; nieces and nephews: Megan, Morgan, and Zachary Kierstead; and many cousins.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Brian David Kierstead will be held SATURDAY, November 24, 2012 at 5:00 PM at the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield. Calling hours will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Red Sox Foundation in care of the funeral home.
