Bruce Connor Obituary

Bruce Connor 1930 - 2008 PITTSFIELD Bruce Connor, 77, of 25 Rubin Drive died Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 24, 1930, son of Raymond T. and Margaret Daverin Connor, he was a graduate of Pittsfield High School and a 1952 graduate of the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. A pharmacist by profession for more than 40 years, Mr. Connor was the proprietor of Connor Pharmacy from 1964 to 1988. He was a communicant of St. Mark Church. He had a great love of flying and earned a pilot's license. He also enjoyed shipbuilding and gardening. His wife, the former Barbara Helliwell, whom he married Dec. 27, 1951, died Aug. 21, 1997. He leaves three sons, Michael Connor of Pittsfield, Mark Connor of North Adams and Timothy Connor and his wife, Andrea, of Beverly; four daughters, Linda Melle and her husband, Michael, of Plainfield, Susan Lang and her husband, Keith, of Cheshire, Amy Fields and her husband, Dan, of Lanesborough, and Sarah Bradford and her husband, Jeff, of Pittsfield; two brothers, Raymond T. Connor Jr. of the state of Florida, and James P. Connor of East Longmeadow, and 14 grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Bruce Connor, who died June 24, will be Friday, June 27, at 9:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Mark Church, celebrated by the Rev. John C. Salatino, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be today, Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Connor may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires or to the Pittsfield Boys and Girls Club in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St.

To the Connor Family: So very sorry for your loss. Bruce was a good man, treated everyone so well. He probably didn't even know the impact he had on my life, it was an innocuous event but it shaped my life and he will always be remembered. Our deepest condolances.

To The Connor Family: I was very sorry to hear of Bruce's passing. We had spent time together in Junior High and also at Pittsfield High. We had lived in the area of the Pharmacy and saw Bruce quite a bit at the store in later years. Our sincerest condolences.

Please accept my sincerest condolences for your loss. Bruce was a wonderfulful fella. My first experience was as a kid in 1964 & going into the pharmacy. Bruce was super nice to me & we eventually got on a first name basis. My mother always spoke fondly of him and his pleasant personality..he will be sorrowfully missed.
