Bruce Montgomery Obituary

Bruce "Butch" Montgomery 1941 2009 ADAMS Mr. Bruce W. "Butch" Montgomery, 68, of 16 Albert St., Adams, died on Thursday, May 14, 2009, at the North Adams Regional Hospital. He was born in Adams on Jan. 29, 1941, son of the late Nelson and Gertrude Williams Montgomery. He attended schools in Adams. Mr. Montgomery worked for several years as the store manager of the former Adams Supermarket until his retirement. He leaves his wife the former Nancy A. Desroches, whom he married on Aug. 28, 1993; one daughter, Bridget McGrath of Adams; two stepsons, Jason Desroches and his wife, Barbara of Adams, and Steven Bonneville of Becket; one stepdaughter, Edwina Gazaille of North Carolina; two brothers, Nelson Montgomery of Adams, and Ralph Montgomery and his wife, Gladys, of Cheshire; one sister, Dorothy Crouse of Cheshire; five grandchildren, Bryce and Grace McGrath, Alexis and Cole Desroches and Alyssa Montgomery, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Bruce "Butch' Montgomery, Jr. on Feb. 7, 2001 and by a sister Lillian Briggs. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be on Wednesday May 20th at 11 a.m. from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12 p.m. in the Parish Church of Pope John Paul the Great, Adams. The Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, Pastor, will celebrate. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the Macular Degeneration Foundation through the funeral home.
