Constance Laurin Obituary

PITTSFIELD -- Constance "Connie" A. Laurin, 84, of 95 East Park Terrace died Monday afternoon, Aug. 15, at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Great Barrington on Nov. 24, 1920, daughter of William A. and Hilda Ambach Lamont, she was a 1938 graduate of the former Searles High School there. She also graduated from the former Berkshire Business College.

Mrs. Laurin was employed as a bookkeeper at her husband's business, Laurin's Service Center on Tyler Street, from the 1950s to the 1990s. From 1939 to 1945, she worked as a secretary in the power transformer department of GE.

She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. She was a former member of the Women's Club of Pittsfield. An avid Red Sox fan, she also enjoyed traveling, golfing and cross country skiing.

She and her husband, Albert A. Laurin, were married Oct. 3, 1941, in the former Notre Dame Church.

Besides her husband, she leaves three sons, David W. Laurin and Craig Laurin, both of Pittsfield, and Jeffrey R. Laurin of Windsor; two daughters, Diane R. Flynn of Pittsfield and Linda Ann Furlano of West Stockbridge; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Constance "Connie" A. Laurin, who died Monday, Aug. 15, leaves 13 grandchildren, Renee Roos, Nichole and Elise Laurin, Patrick Flynn and Erin Ford, Stephen Laurin, Michael Laurin, Jeanne Schnackenberg, and Valerie Lanfair, Michelle and Brent Furlano, and Abbey and Ian Laurin; and eight great-grandchildren, Tyler LeFebvre, Lindsey Ford, Ashley Flynn, Ryan Flynn, Zachary Roos, David Roos, Michela and Soleil Laurin, as well as her loving daughters-in-law, Aline Laurin, Paula Laurin and Marjorie Laurin; and her loving sons-in-law, Robert Flynn and Dennis Furlano. Funeral services will be Thursday, Aug. 18, at 10:30 at the DERY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Mary the Morning Star Church, celebrated by the Rev. Paul A. Bombardier, pastor. Entombment will follow in St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum at St. Joseph's Church with the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor of St. Charles' Church, officiating. Calling hours will be Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Berkshire County Jimmy Fund or to St. Mary's Church in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St. Her greatest love was spending time with her family.
