David Wellspeak Obituary

David Edward Wellspeak, 80 of Ormond Beach, Florida, formerly of Dalton, MA found peace on Monday, March 27, 2023 with "His Girls" by his side. He was born February 5, 1943, son of Clarence and Marion (Wilson) Wellspeak.

He leaves behind the love of his life and best friend, Susan (Baumann) Wellspeak who he met and married 6 weeks later. They lived a happy life for the last 55+ years. During that time they raised their two beautiful daughters, Shannon (Mark) Badorini of Cheshire. MA and Kellie McMillan of New Lebanon, NY who blessed them with 3 wonderful grandsons. Justin (Chelsey) Wellspeak, Braydan McMillan and Konnor McMillan, and then came Ms. Lily Wellspeak, his one and only Great-Granddaughter who brought a sparkle to his eyes.

He attended Wahconah Regional High School and then joined the US Airforce where he became an electrician. After honorary discharge from the military, he began working for Western Mass Electric Company where he retired after 38 years of service. In addition to his full-time work as an electrician, he was always eager to "keep learning". He went to The University of Maine to become a Farrier which he enjoyed doing for 20 years, while making new friends and following his passion for horses. After horseshoeing he decided to follow his life time love of learning and developed a passion for photography. He started Wellspeak Photo Studio in 1986 and began making memories for many brides and families doing what he loved.

Dave had a passion for life. He enjoyed golfing with his friends for many years at Worthington Country Club and when he moved to Florida he made new golfing buddies, as well. He was a member of the American Legion and The Moose Lodge. In his younger years, he loved to hunt with his dad. He was truly a family man. He loved to travel with his wife and was always trying to make new memories with his kids and grandkids. He left behind a great legacy - he was an amazing man and caring and compassionate right up until the end. He made a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He also leaves behind his sister, Debra (Scott) Lucas of Auburn MA, his brother-in-law Dick (Peg) Baumann of Port Orange, Shannon's stepchildren Bradly (Jessica) Badorini and Amanda (Mitch) Despain, along with his nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cheers!

Sue, we are so saddened to hear of Dave´s passing. You both were so warm and friendly when we met you and brought Aimee, that beautiful Morgan mare home. You gave us so many smiles when we would find carrot treats in the barn that you and Dave would leave during impromptu visits. Sharing time with you when we brought Aimee home to her new barn, Dave taking pictures the whole time. We have memories to cherish, holding a special place in our hearts for you and Dave.

Grew up on High St. My brother Wayne and Dave taught me a lot, some of which my parents were not happy about. Kidding aside, Dave was a lot of fun to be around. Between his cars, hunting etc he was always busy. And very nice to this youngster.
