Dennis Ralph Demary, who died Thursday, August 28, leaves his former wife, Marie Gooley Demary of Dalton, and two sisters, Lynn Gauthier and Kathy Penna, both of Pittsfield. This information was provided incorrectly to The Eagle for the obituary in Saturday’s paper.
PITTSFIELD -- Dennis Ralph Demary Sr., 60, of 124 B Candlewood Road, Groton, Conn., died yesterday at home.
Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 27, 1943, son of William E. Demary Sr. and Eva M. Hoisington Demary, he attended local schools.
He was employed by the city of Groton Highway Department for 19 years.
Prior to this, he had worked for the former BeeBee Dairy Bar for a short time.
He was a member of the Elks Club in Groton.
He also enjoyed gardening, fishing and handiwork.
His first wife, the former Anne Marie Parker, whom he married in 1969, died Dec. 14, 1989.
He and his wife, the former Rowena A. Young, were married June 5, 1999, in Groton.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Ricky A. Demary of Groton and Dennis R. Demary Jr. of Pittsfield; a daughter, Kimberly Demary of Pittsfield; two brothers, Richard Demary and William Demary, both of Pittsfield; two sisters, Lynn Demary and Kathy Demary, both of Pittsfield; and nine grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Dennis R. Demary will take place Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003, at 11 at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Donations are suggested for the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
