Dear Brianna,
I am so very sorry about your Dad´s passing. He was so very proud of you, sharing with us each accomplishment at different stages of your life, beginning with your learning to swim in our pool. As you know your Dad was close friends with my Mike. He was so good to Mike when he got sick.
Your Dad encouraged me to become an ombudsman for Elder Services where he worked and I am thankful for that experience.
Sending prayers for peace and comfort. God bless.

Another angel has been called home as his work here on earth has been completed. Growing up as friends & next door neighbors on Cecelia Terrace with Derry, Lauri, Desi & Fiona Sporbert was such a special privilege & one I will always hold close to my heart. Later on in life when my Mom resided at Providence Court´s Independent Living she knew Derry would always be there for her if she ever needed anything & he was on many occasions. This gave my family comfort knowing my Mom had that sense of security because of Derry´s loving heart. He will be missed by so many. Thank you Derry for serving your country & fellow citizens throughout your life. Rest in Peace.

I knew Derry when he was married to my cousin Jane. He always was pleasant when dealing with my mom, dad, brother, and me. After he and my cousin divorced, my family lost track of him until my brother went into a nursing home. Derry became his ombudsman and spent time both helping him with his care and passing the time just talking with him. I know my brother thought of him as a good friend...
