Donald Gelpi Obituary
Born on August 2, 1952, Don was the son of Angelo and Margaret Gelpi. He was a lifelong Lee resident and a 1972 graduate of Lee High School. Don continued on to work at Lee Public Schools for nearly 40 years as a custodian. He enjoyed metal detecting, watching the Yankees and the Patriots and was an avid reader of U.S. History. It was not uncommon to catch Don sitting on the back porch listening to his endless collection of classic rock albums and tossing peanuts to the chipmunks in the yard.
Don is survived by his son, Angelo (Allison) Gelpi, sister, Monica (Jeff) Dingman, and nephew, Adam Dingman. He also leaves behind his grand dog, Cru, who he affectionately called "My Big Guy". Don's smile was never bigger than when the two of them spent time listening to music together.
At Don's request, there will not be a funeral or memorial service. We invite you to privately celebrate Don's memory in your own way.

I was a teacher at Lee High and did some work at the then Central School during my 35 years. I remember Don as a student and as a regular conversational friend throughout his career and mine. My condolences to the family and may you feel much comfort in your memories of Don.
