Doris Mary Griffin

1931 - 2025

Doris died on 9/21/2025 in Lithia, FL, with her daughter Kellie and son Matthew by her side. She had relocated to Florida 5 years ago. We siblings thank Kellie and her family from the bottom of our hearts for the care they gave Doris is those years.

Born in Alford, MA, she was the daughter of Peter and Jesse (Jennings) Morandi. Her father passed when she was 3, and her stepfather adopted her when she was 12.

Raising six children in Lanesborough was a full-time job, but she also worked in several part-time positions, including at the Lanesborough Post Office at Christmastime. She also worked in the nursery at Brodie Mountain Ski Area, allowing the entire family to get yearly ski passes. Later, when the kids were older, she began waitressing spending many years at Jimmy's Restaurant.

We kids will always cherished our memories of camping in our homemade trailer, whether on our yearly trip to Cape Cod or driving to California visiting as many National Parks that we could three times!

In the last four years of her life, Doris went to Hawaii and twice to Italy-renting a villa in Amalfi for an entire month both times!

Alert and clear minded until the end, she leaves her children Larry (Darlene) of Littleton, MA, Brian (Brenda) of Lanesborough, Wendy Carpenter of Ventura, CA, Cathy (John) Tobin of Plainfield, MA, Matthew of Tampa, FL, and Kellie (Timothy) Bouley of Lithia, FL.

She also leaves 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, brother John Jr., and her former husband, Donald Griffin.

Per her wishes, no services will be held.
