Dorothy Toporowski Obituary

"The only thing to do in life is dance. I've only missed a few songs in 60 years." - Dorothy Toporwoski.

Dorothy May Toporowski, 95 of Cheshire, Massachusetts, passed away October 15, 2021 at Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield.

She was born on May 1, 1926 at home in Adams, Massachusetts to Everett and Mary Lagowski Randall and she attended local schools.

Dorothy was married to Lawrence Anthony Toporowski who predeceased her on February 18, 2005.

She had been employed at Hoosac Valley High School in the cafeteria. She also was a hairdresser when she was younger and had gone to Marcel Hairdressing School.

Mrs. Toporowski enjoyed gardening, sewing and crafting, but most of all, she loved dancing, especially the Polka and Waltz.

She is survived by four daughters, Sharon Toporowski (Bob) of Cheshire, Gail Lennon (Dominic) of Cheshire, Terri Drain (Brian) of Cheshire, and Beverly Superneau of Cheshire. Brothers, Robert Randall (Betty) of Adams, and Douglas Randall of Adams. Four grandchildren, Scott Lillie, Bethany Metzgar, Shelby Gale, and Michael Superneau. As well as two great-grandchildren, Brian Metzgar and Quinn Gale.

She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Gary Superneau; her grandson Brian Lillie; sister Frances Luczynski and brother Everett Randall.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Mrs. Toporowski will be held, FRIDAY, October 22, 2021 at 11 a.m. at DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME, 121 North State Road, Cheshire, MA. Burial will follow at Cheshire Cemetery. Calling hours will be held THURSDAY, October 21, 2021 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her name to the Berkshire Humane Society or the Eleanor Sonsini Shelter and mailed to Dery-Cheshire Funeral Home, PO Box 445, Cheshire, MA 01225.

To Dorothy's family, I am sorry for your loss. I work in
activities at Hillcrest Commons. I did play polka music for her one day, and I took her outside twice. I could tell that she was a nice person. I wish I had known her longer. Sincerely, Sharon karlin
