Ellen Lipka Obituary

Ellen Mary (Diokas) Lipka, 99, of Adams, died Friday evening, September 26, 2025 at North Adams Commons. She was born in West Ghent, NY on August 25, 1926, daughter of the late John and Mary (Boyda) Diokas, and attended New York schools. Ellen worked at the former Sprague Electric in North Adams until retiring. She then worked part-time at the former Adams Rest Home and the Red Carpet Restaurant. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards and knitting. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Skillings of Portland, ME, two sons, Peter Lipka and Paul Lipka and his wife Sharon, both of Adams; 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Clayton Skillings, her brothers Stanley and Frank, and by her sisters Jennie and Elizabeth. Per Ellen's wishes, private funeral services will be held at a later date. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the SSK Preservation Fund, PO Box 328, Adams, MA 01220 or to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 1120, Framingham, MA 01701.
