1935 - 2014 JACKSONVILLE, VT. Emil F. Begiebing Jr., 78, of 399 Laurel Lake Road, formerly of Clarksburg, Mass., died on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014 at Williamstown Commons. He was born in North Adams on Dec. 8, 1935 a son of the late Emil F. and Eola (Collins) Begiebing. He attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School. He was a member of the Massachusetts National Guard. Emil was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard from 1958-1962. In his earlier days, he worked at Montagna Motors and Strong & Hewitt Co. in Clarksburg. He then was employed at the New England Power Co. and was last employed at the Yankee Atomic Power Plant, retiring in 1992. Mr. Begiebing was a former member of the Clarksburg School Committee and former wire inspector for the towns of Clarksburg and Rowe. He was a longtime member of the Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Co. and a member of the Readsboro, Vt. American Legion. While in Jacksonville, he served as the former president of the Laurel Lake Assoc. He enjoyed golfing and riding his motorcycle. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Barbara (Scott) Begiebing, whom he married Sept. 8, 1956; four sons, Daniel Begiebing and his wife, Kimberly of Berkshire, Vt., Frederick Begiebing and his wife, Debbie of North Pownal, Vt., Edward Begiebing of Hooksett, N.H., and David Begiebing and his wife, Lori of Henderson, Nev.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Jane Robare and her husband, Carl of Stamford, Vt., and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Doris Baird. FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral Services will take place Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the FLYNN DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, Mass. Burial with military honors will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Memorial donations are suggested for the Parkinson's Disease Foundation through the funeral home.
