Emile Ouellette Obituary

Emile J. Ouellette 1922-2011 ADAMS Emile J. Ouellette, 89 of 75 Commercial St., died Wednesday, December 28 at the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Adams on May 21, 1922, son of the late Joseph A. and Isabelle Daoust Ouellette he attended the former Notre Dame Elementary School in Adams and graduated from the former Adams High School in 1941. His last place of employment was for the Stanley's Lumber Co. in Adams for several years, retiring in 1984. Prior to that he was manager for the former Arnold's 1788 Yard both in Adams and in Pittsfield, was also employed with the former A. C. Simmons Furniture Store in Adams and earlier in his life was manager for the former Adams Theater. Mr. Ouellette was also a World War II US Marine veteran serving in the Pacific Theater. He participated in four invasions, Roi-Namur; Saipan; Tinian, and the Iwo Jima landings. During his service he received three Purple Hearts and a Gold Star. Mr. Ouellette was a communicant of the former Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church in Adams, and was a former member of the Adams Council 230 of the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of Adams Post 160 of the American Legion, Adams Senior Citizens, the Mill House Association, and a life member of the Adams Lodge of Elks. Mr. Ouellette was also an avid Boston Red Sox, Celtic and New England Patriot fan and card player. His wife, the former Lauretta L. Bourdeau whom he married on July 28, 1947, died July 29, 1992. He is survived by one daughter, Margaret Ouellette, who is an attorney with Citizens Bank, and her husband Robert Ronnow of Williamstown. He is also survived by one sister, Estelle Marshall of N.C., one brother, Lawrence Ouellette of Ft. Meyers, Fla., two grandchildren, Aaron Clifford Ronnow and Zachary Bartholomew Ronnow and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six brothers, Ernest, Leo, Henry, Raymond Edward and Alfred, Ouellette, and two sisters. Cecile Gaulin and Florence Stako. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Emile J. Ouellette will take place Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 9 a.m. from the TROTTIER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in the Parish of Pope John Paul the Great in Adams at 10 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, Pastor. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. Donations in his memory can be made to the Parish of Pope John Paul Food Pantry in care of the funeral home.

Sorry for the loss of your Dad...Im the one who always brought him to bingo...then he stopped going because of his health and with kids and grand kids I didnt see too much of him ....I didnt know he was that sick ......we exchange birthday cards kepted in touch like that ....Im sorry now ....I should of went down more...Hes at Peace ....GOD BLESS....Tammy Lussier
