Frank Palano Obituary

Frank S. Palano 1932 2009 CHESHIRE Frank Salvatore Palano, 77, of 1361 Windsor Road, died on Monday, Oct. 26, 2009 at Sweet Brook Care Center, Williamstown. He was born in Pittsfield on May 6, 1932, a son of the late Salvatore and Catherine Torre Palano, he attended schools in Pittsfield and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1950. He then completed the General Electric Apprentice Course in Pittsfield. Mr. Palano worked for General Electric Co., Pittsfield, for 38 years, starting as a machinist and retiring in 1987 as a Quality Control Specialist. Following his retirement, he worked as a consultant for General Electric. Mr. Palano was an active member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Adams, where he served as Junior Warden for many years until retiring in 2009. He had also been a Lay Eucharistic Minister and Lay Eucharistic Visitor. He loved to cook, and ran many church dinners, serving his wonderful cultural dishes. He especially enjoyed working with the St. Mark's youth group with their spaghetti suppers. He was a member of the G.E. Quarter Century Club and the Pittsfield Boys & Girls Club. He is survived by his wife, the former Jean C. Chenail, whom he married on Dec. 26, 1980; one son, Stephen Palano of Ogden, Utah; two daughters, Catherine Palano, of Sheffield and Juliana Chaney and her husband, Jim Chaney, of Milford, Conn.; one stepson, Glenn Grillon, of Dalton; one brother, Philip Palano, of Pittsfield; one sister, Santina Byrd, of Tioga, Texas; six grandchildren, Jacqueline, Jay and Jillian Canino, Justin Palano, and Dominique and Claudia Grillon; and several nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Celebration of Frank's life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 7th at 10 a.m. in St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Adams. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Pittsfield Boys & Girls Club or St. Mark's Episcopal Church Memorial Fund through the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, which is in charge of arrangements. I am so sorry to see that your brother Frank passed away. I have happy memories of your brother dancing at the F.M.T.A. with all the girls and having a wonderful time.
