George Martin Obituary

George M. Martin, 58, of Northampton, MA., died November 16th at his mother's residence in Lenox of natural causes.

Born in Northampton on May 22, 1964, the son of Mr. Peter Martin, Jr., of Pittsfield and Lillian Martin of Lenox; brother of "Hank", Peter Martin, III, of Becket, MA, the late Jeffrey Martin of Nashville, TN, and Damian A. Martin of Lenox; and was the proud father of Andrew M. Martin of Pittsfield, Susan M. Martin of Pennsylvania, and the late Katlin Martin, of Virginia Beach, VA. He attended Lenox Schools and was a 1981 graduate of Lenox High School.

His family is proud to have had a son serving in the US Navy Seabees and Reserves construction unit, repairing buildings and bridges that included working on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Virginia. After serving for 4 years on active duty, he continued working in Virginia for Tidewater Construction for many years.

He enjoyed restoring old cars, watching sports on TV (especially NASCAR and football), and most of all spending time with his family.
