Jane Laska Obituary

Jane "Crazy Jane" Laska, 80, of Palm Bay Florida, passed into eternal peace on January 22, 2022. She was born in Housatonic, MA on July 8, 1941 to Stanley "Brick" Laska and Blanche Magdalenski Laska.

Her zany antics, caring gestures, and genuine love of people earned her the nickname Crazy Jane. She genuinely loved everyone she met, if she joked with you, she loved you and you felt it. She made gifts for people, be it food, a wreath, a picture, and it was personalized for that person.

Her life wasn't her list of jobs and accomplishments, but of the people she touched as she went through her life. She did have 2 jobs that she absolutely loved. She was Senior Security Coordinator for Harris Corp., Semiconductor Division in Palm Bay, Florida for 10 years. She was dedicated to her work there, and found great satisfaction in her job and found 2 of her best friends of 35 years there. She then moved back to Housatonic and worked for Marion Gilliam, or "Mr. G" as she called him, where she adopted him and the running of his home. Of course she brought her silly antics to his dinner parties and gatherings, once again carrying her love and laughter to others. She often said that these were some of the best years of her life, and considered Mr. G a lifelong friend. She also worked for Orion Magazine, another job she loved and made more lifelong friends.

She moved to Flag Rock Apartments in Housatonic where to her delight she reconnected with people she knew from her childhood. She later moved to Palm Bay, Florida to live with her daughter Tammy and family. Jane gave her children a great childhood. Play outside all day, home cooked meals, creativity and how to be our own individual selves.

She is survived by four children: Amy Wightman of Richmond, VA, Thomas Edwards of Vilonia, AR, Tammy Mays of Palm Bay, FL , and Danny Edwards and Sondra Utama of Hyndman, PA. She is also survived by her former husband Ronald L. Edwards of Waynesboro, VA. She also leaves eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. She is predeceased by her brother Thomas Laska, sister Marion Grossetti, a grandson Noel, a great granddaughter Jaida, and a great grandson Cayson.

There will be no public memorial service and a private family gathering will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations, in Jane Laska's name, can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, at www.stjude.org.

Jane was one of a kind. Always soooo much fun. Her amazing energy was felt by all that had the pleasure to be around her. If the world had more people like her it would be a much nicer place! She will be missed
