Joel Bolshaw Obituary
He graduated from Brookfield High School, Class of 1953. Joel proudly served in the Navy on the USS Oriskany from 1954 to 1958. In 1959, he married his wife, Mary, in Connecticut.
His interests included motorcycles, machinery, researching genealogy, enjoying music, coins and dancing with Mary.
Joel is survived by his wife, Mary, his children, Kevin Bolshaw and wife Trish of Pennsylvania, Yvette Bolshaw of Massachusetts, Jody Cilli and partner Dan Kolis of Massachusetts, and Kim Bolshaw and husband, Chris Noetzel, of Maine, and Jennifer Bolshaw of Maine. Grandchildren James D. Witto, Natiya Cilli, Ellis and Merrill Bolshaw-Noetzel and and three great grandchildren. Sister, Carol Zuccalo and husband, Don, of Vermont. He is also survived by additional family and many friends, who shared their lives and fellowship through Bill W. and Dr. Bob.
A heartfelt thank you to the EMS, Ambulance, the Sheriff's Department and LifeFlight crews for being so efficient and caring.
A celebration of life will held 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, at the Elks Lodge in Ellsworth. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to Hancock Emergency Medical Services. www.hancockvfd.com

So many. I miss you Joel!
Your family always welcomed us. So glad that Judy and the Kids could experience the hospitality and friendship Mary and you shared with us. I often use Joel's name when I speak at meetings and how much he influenced my sobriety. I met many but only a very few were close. Thank You for remaining in contact since 1977 until you left us on earth.

Dear Mary, Kevin, Yvette, Jodi & Jen: Sooooo many good memories. The Baby/ Lee you baby sat for, girls is now 37. I happened to drive up to the old neighborhood, yesterday, just cuz. Did not know about Joel's passing, then. He was a terrific guy with a precious smile. He will be missed.
