John Maconga Obituary

John Louis Maconga, passed away on September 11, 2025, just days after joyfully celebrating his 80th birthday with his family.

Born September 6, 1945, in Far Rockaway, New York, he was the son of the late John and Mary Cacciotti Maconga. As a young boy, John moved with his family to Williamstown, before settling in Pittsfield.

John married the love of his life Kathleen Griffin Maconga. For more than fifty years, they built a life together, rooted in love, faith, and family. John cherished every moment with his family, finding joy in drawing, writing poems, leaving sweet notes to his wife every day, and singing. After 30 years, he retired from Crane and Co. where he was known for his strong work ethic and loyalty.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Kathleen, and their children: Beth Cacciola (Joe), John Maconga (Marisa), Sarah Harvey (John), James Webb (Larissa), David Webb (Joy), and Jennifer McNulty (Alex). He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren: Kaitlyn Cacciola, Chris Cacciola, Nicholas Webb, Mark Harvey, Carson Maconga, Thatcher Maconga, Sage Maconga, Bethany Comeau, Matt McNulty, Madison Astore, Bryce Webb, Jack Demayo, and Dominic Demayo and great grandchildren: Charlotte, Clara, Lacie, and Mason.

John is also survived by his sisters, MaryAnn (Bob) Dykeman, Marge Daniels, and Pat (Joe) LaCagnina, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved him dearly. He was predeceased by brothers-in-law Jim and Dick Daniels.
