Jon Height Obituary

Jon L. Height Sr. 1955-2008 SHEFFIELD Jon L. Height Sr., 52, of Kellogg Rd. formerly of South Egremont died March 11. He was born in Great Barrington on July 20, 1955, son of Claire Kellogg Height and the late Gordon M. Height Sr. He graduated from Monument Mountain Regional High School Class of 1973, and attended General Motors Certified Automotive Regional in Dedham, Mass.. He had previously worked at the former Dempsey Garage and was owner of Height Import Services in Egremont and Great Barrington. He was a member of the Graylock Bass Club and was their 1996 bass angler of the year. He was an avid bass fisherman and fished throughout the U.S. and Venezuela, Cuba, and Canada. Besides his mother in Sheffield he leaves one son Jon L. Height Jr. of Great Barrington, one daughter Bobbi-Jo Emerling of Ashely Falls, Mass., one brother Gordon M Height Jr. of South Lee, Mass., and one sister Jill K. Godburn of Canaan, Conn., five grandchildren, Tyler John Height, Riley Everett Height, Erica, Anthony, and Ali. FUNERAL NOTICE: The family of Jon L. Height Sr. will receive friends on Friday March 14, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the BRICHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME. A memorial service will be on Saturday March 15, at 11 a.m. in the First Congregational Church with Pastor Charles VanAusdall officiating.Expressions of Sympathy in lieu of flowers may be made to the Southern Berkshire Voluntary Ambulance Squad care of Briches-Roy Funeral Home 33 South St. Great Barrington, Ma. 01230.]]>

My condolences to Jons' family. I haven't seen Jon in a number of years but I do remember how he was always willing to help me out in auto shop at MMRHS. Later on when I had personal problems I ran into Jon and he spent considerable time helping me find a solution. I will always be grateful to him,
