Joseph Cain Obituary

Joseph Francis Cain, Jr., 80 of Williamstown, MA died on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Williamstown Commons. He was born in North Adams, MA on September 6, 1941, first born child of the late Joseph Francis Cain and Marjorie Elise (Clerc) Cain.

Joseph attended St. Joseph's High School in North Adams and was a graduate of Holy Cross College, Worcester, MA. He began his teaching career in Hancock, MA and later in the North Adams School system as a primary grade teacher at Johnson, Haskins and Brayton schools.

Joseph married the former Carol Ann Wilson on February 8, 1975. She predeceased him on August 2, 2010.

Joseph loved baseball and spent years coaching Little League and Babe Ruth and was a long time umpire for youth baseball.

Joseph is survived by his son Brian Cain and his wife Erin of Paradise Valley, AZ, and granddaughter, Carolyn Cain. He also leaves behind two brothers, Richard Cain and his wife Elvira of Lehigh Acres, Florida and Christopher W. Cain and his wife Denise of Shrewsbury, MA as well as three sisters, Ann E. Cain of North Adams, Sr. Natalie C. Cain, SSJ of Holyoke and Marjorie Tisdale of Calais, ME. Joseph was predeceased by his wife, Carol Wilson Cain, son Joseph Aaron Cain, and his brother Neil P. Cain, and his wife Lynda Cain.

Please help us celebrate the life of Joseph F. Cain, Jr., who quietly went to his Lord on April 28, 2022. Many folks were blessed by having known Joe and we welcome all of you to join along with family and friends, in celebrating his wonderful life.

You are welcome and encouraged to share your memories during this time as we honor the life of Joe. He was a husband, father, teacher and coach. A wonderful man who dedicated his life to teaching and serving others in North Adams and Williamstown, MA. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday June 10, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Cheshire, MA. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery, North Adams, MA. Memorial donations are suggested for the Sisters of St. Joseph through the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Homes, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA. 01247.
