Karam Coury Obituary
He is predeceased by his wife, Anne Panetti Coury, of Pittsfield, his beloved granddaughter, Anna Noelle Giardina, of North Carolina and his sisters, Linda Tamini, Moni Jabbour and Nawal Younes, of Lebanon.
He leaves behind his daughters, Cynthia Coury Daly and husband Drew of Holly Springs, NC, Tamie Glantz and husband Steven of South Kingstown, RI, Lori Coury and husband John Levardi of Pittsfield, MA, and Kristine McNulty and husband James of Riverside, RI, his six grandchildren, Amanda, Erica, Matthew, Ryan, Alex and Samantha, as well as 6 great-granddaughters. He also leaves behind his brother Nazih Khoury, from Lebanon, and sisters, Naziha Tamini, Marie Tamini and Nohad Tannous, all from Australia, as well as many loved nieces and nephews.
Coming to the United States in his early twenties, he began his life as a modest carpenter, eventually starting what would become Coury's Construction Company, Inc. As he became well known for his quality homes, he developed four streets, all cul-de-sacs off of Holmes Road in Pittsfield, MA, and each one named after his four daughters. With determination and perseverance, he became a successful real estate developer in the Berkshires, building over 350 homes. He leaves quite a legacy in Pittsfield, one that will not be forgotten.
In his early 60's, he was diagnosed with cancer. He overcame this tough battle and went on to live a rich and full life, retiring to Florida and becoming an avid golfer.
He leaves behind a legacy that inspires us all and his love and wisdom will live forever in our hearts. We are deeply thankful for the time we had with him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 4th at Mazzeo's Restaurant in Pittsfield in the afternoon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause that was near and dear to his heart.

Dear Cindy,Tammy,Lori and Kris, we were so sad to hear of your dad´s passing.He was such a great guy. We have such fond memories of our old neighborhood on Benedict Rd and how all of the families would gather for cookouts under our old maple tree. Love to all of you and your family.

I knew Karam neither well, or for very long. However, during that brief amount of time his apparent joy for life and family made for a better day each time I saw him. To few people have that impact. Although I had not seen him these last several years, I still thought of him fondly and often.

Dear Coury family
I absolutely adored your father and grandfather, and I was lucky enough to have lived in one of his beautiful homes. My fondest memory is of him letting my 9 year old son drive his tractor. Needless to say, David was thrilled.

I have happy memories of Karam in Pittsfield MA. He was the best friend of my sister´s father in law and we were together many happy occasions having big cookouts on lake Onoda. Karam would cook the lamb outside and it was delicious. He was quick with a smile and a lovely person to spend time with. I hold his memory in my heart.
