Michael F. Coury

Michael Frederick Coury passed away peacefully at 11:49 a.m. on Sunday, October 5th, 2025, after a courageous battle with an aggressive lung disease. He was 48 years old. Surrounded by loving friends, family, clergy, and the compassionate medical team at Kaiser Vallejo, Michael left this world with dignity, strength, and love all around him.

Born in Hagerstown, Maryland on November 10, 1976, Michael moved to Vallejo, California in 1995, where he made his home and touched many lives. He held a variety of jobs over the years, but his favorite was working at Lixit in Napa, where he found a sense of purpose and community.

Michael had a deep love for animals-especially horses and dogs. He was an avid rider, participating in Special Olympics equestrian events, as well as track and field and baseball competitions. He was also a devoted music lover, and nothing brought him more joy than listening to his favorite artist, Tom Petty.

Michael is survived by his beloved fraternal twin brother, Harrison, his mother Carlene, and his father David. Michael and Harrison were adopted by David and Carlene at the age of five and a half, becoming part of a family that cherished and supported him every step of the way.

He leaves behind many dear friends in both Vallejo and Los Angeles, all of whom will deeply miss his kind heart, sense of humor, and gentle spirit.

A memorial service to celebrate Michael's life will be held in early 2026.
