Kevin Brennan Obituary

Mr. Kevin J. Brennan, age 73, of Pittsfield died Wednesday, January 19, 2022 peacefully at Berkshire Medical Center.

Kevin was born in Pittsfield on March 23, 1948 a son of the late Robert and Helen Smith Brennan. He was a 1967 graduate of St. John's Prep School in Danvers, MA.

Mr. Brennan worked for GE Ordinance while starting his own painting contracting business. He was the owner and operator of KJ Brennan & Son, a business he started in 1980 and proudly passed on to his son when he retired in 2018.

He was a family man and loved being with his grandchildren. Kevin was a great skier. He worked as an instructor at Bousquet for many years and loved the skiing trips he took with his son and nephews to Utah. He also enjoyed golf and the many vacations he enjoyed over the years with family and friends.

He was an avid college football fan, especially Notre Dame. He also loved the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox's.

Kevin was on the board of the Jimmy Fund Council of Berkshire County for over 15 years. He was so proud to carry on this legacy after his brother Jack's passing.

Kevin married the former Joanne Racicot on October 28, 2002. He and Joanne had been together since 1978.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Kevin P. Brennan (Michele Robillard), his grandchildren, Ashton and Ava Brennan, his brothers and sisters in law, Carol Brennan and Joe (Lynn) Racicot, all of Pittsfield, Rose (Joe) LaPage and Patti (Beau) Harrison, all of South Carolina, Priscilla Brennan of Leominster, and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Robert "Bob", John "Jack" Brennan and Mary Jane Magner.

SERVICES: Friends are invited to join with the family on MONDAY, January 24, 2022 from 5-7PM at the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home. The celebration of Kevin's life will continue on TUESDAY morning beginning at 9AM at the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. Mark's Church celebrated by Rev. Christopher Fedoryshyn, Pastor. Entombment will follow in the St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum within St. Joseph's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to "Jimmy Fund Council of Berkshire County" and mailed to the funeral home at 40 Maplewood Ave. Pittsfield, MA 01201

Kevin Brennan was my grandfather, therefore I have known him all my life. I had always referred to him as Beant for some reason no one will tell me. We would go to Red Sox games all the time, he taught me how to catch and hit a baseball. When he got sick, it was a difficult time but I got through it with the help of friends and family. After he got back from rehab twice, I got him a die cast model of his Toyota Spider I had always called it Beant's Race car. Then, a couple weeks later, he died. I had the choice to keep the car or not and I did. This was probably the hardest and scariest moment of my life knowing I was never going to see him again. I was 12 when he passed. I am now 13 and still missing him.

I'm really sorry to hear about Kevin. I had known him for sixty years starting in the old neighborhood. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone. He was a truly good guy. I'm sure he will be missed by all.

Condolences to Kevin's family and those who cherish his memory on the loss of a great guy.

The selected photo is perfect...with a "Wud-a-ya looking at!" expression in his eyes like when we wore a younger man's clothes.

While grieving his passing, so glad to have known him those many years ago. Rest in peace, Kevin.

A fond remembrance from another of Kevin´s SJP classmates.
Whether you were a good student, athlete, or had an outgoing personality, it did not matter to Kevin. He was sincerely friendly with everyone. He was always there for us. His memories are the best and will always remain.
Truly saddened to hear of Kevin´s passing. My deepest sympathy to his family.
Godspeed Kevin!!
