Laureen Huckle Obituary

Laureen Huckle, 62, of Pittsfield, passed away at home on Friday, July 12, 2024, after a courageous eighteen month battle with cancer.

Born in Pittsfield on December 23, 1961, the daughter of Donald J. Daly and Judith Volin, she attended Pittsfield Public Schools and St Joseph Central High School. She worked at several local restaurants before beginning her career with Verizon in 1998, and remained with the company until her retirement in 2021.

Laureen spent most of her life living in towns along the east coast of Massachusetts, where she could be near one of her greatest loves, the Atlantic Ocean. She could be found on the beach as often as possible, with a deep tan and a Dunkin Donuts coffee in her hand. A die-hard New England Patriots fan, Laureen rarely missed a game and loved to rile up the Pats haters with her friend Andrea. She will be remembered as firm in her beliefs and never afraid to speak her mind. She fiercely loved her many friends, and especially her brother, and moved back to her native Pittsfield in May of this year to have her family by her side in her final months.

Laureen was predeceased by her longtime best friend and former husband, Tim Huckle of North Adams. She leaves behind her son Thomas Daly of North Adams; her parents, Donald J. Daly of Pittsfield and Judith Volin of Lanesboro, and her brother Donald R. (wife Sonya) Daly of Lenox. She is also survived by her cousins Chris Young of Nashville, TN and Sheila Daly of Pittsfield; nieces Teressa Daly Barriere, Olivia Daly, and Mollie Stohr; nephew Elliot Daly; and goddaughter Victoria Brill.

Laureen will be dearly missed by countless friends and companions. Her family would like to give special thanks to Gary Graham, Terry Smith Brill, and Andrea McCleary for their love and support, and especially CJ Flaherty for his constant care and unwavering devotion in the final months of her life.

The family would also like to thank the nurses and aides from Hospice Care of the Berkshires, especially Liz, who kept Laureen comfortable in her final hours.

Burial and a celebration of Laurren Huckle Life will take place at a later date, to add to the Book of Memories, please visit flynndagnolifuneralhomes.com.
