Lee Clapper Obituary

Lee Clarence Clapper was born in Hopewell, Virginia Oct 17, 1978 to Susan Ann Service and John Charles Clapper. Lee passed away peacefully on Jan 5, 2021 where he lived in San Jose, California.

He is survived by his mother, brothers Sam Crockett Clapper, John Clarence Clapper and his nephew Dudley Charles Clapper. Lee grew up in New York, Georgia, North Carolina and later went to high school in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. As a senior at Pittsfield High School, Lee was a Massachusetts State Champion wrestler at the 187 weight class in 1996. Lee went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force where he worked overseas in Germany as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician.

Lee had a brilliant mind, was an independent spirit and had a talent for making friends. Lee enjoyed good music and would often play the drums. Lee lived a unique life. He somehow taught himself to read and write Russian, was fluent in Spanish and was an avid chess player. Lee's views on the world and existence were different. Lee often struggled to conform to what he believed to be an ill conceived society but at his core Lee was a selfless spirit, caring soul and gentle being.

Lee will be dearly missed by his family and friends. May his soul finally escape the trappings of this world and his light forever shine for as far as the universe extends. May god rest his soul in peace.
