Lorraine Bourassa Obituary

Lorraine Bourassa passed away in Sarasota Florida on February 26, 2021, at the age of 84, after a long illness. She was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on February 10, 1937, and was the youngest of eight children of Joseph and Anna Carbonneau.

Lorraine graduated from Saint Stephens High School in Worcester. She married her high school sweetheart, Paul Bourassa, on July 27, 1957.

Lorraine and Paul were longtime residents of the central Berkshires, and lived in Pittsfield, Richmond, and Lenox Massachusetts before relocating to Sarasota Florida. After raising four children, Lorraine worked as a realtor for many years at Evergreen Realty in Pittsfield and Roberts Realty in Lenox. She was very happy in her garden and in her kitchen. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was always so happy to have them visit her in Florida. Before her illness, she was an avid walker, especially along the white sand beach on Siesta Key in Sarasota County Florida.

Lorraine leaves behind her beloved husband of 64 years, Paul (pictured above with her), as well as her four children, Beth Bourassa, Cheryl Bourassa, Paul Bourassa, Jr., and Daniel Bourassa, and five grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Teresa Maillet and Jean Pearre. Private final arrangements were completed in Sarasota.

Mr Bourassa, i am your old babysitter from Brown Street...ages ago. I was sorry to read of Mrs. Bourassa´s passing. I have fond memories of you all. She would have the best snacks laid out for me after the kids were in bed. She was a classy, thoughtful women who ran a lovely home. I am so sorry for your loss after so many years together.
