Dear Papu,

It's been 6 years, and I can't tell you how much I miss you. We made so many memories when I was young, and I remember every little bit. You always knew how to cheer me up, and I always got so excited whenever I got the chance to come to Lee. It's not the same, but don't worry, we still go to Athena's when we fly in and I still get the penne pasta with marinara just like when I was a kid! I'm writing this because I wanted to say thank you for always being there for me. You lit up the room whenever you walked in, you could make me laugh until my stomach hurt, and you always knew how to tell the best jokes! I remember when you would sit in the chairs at the airport, next to the big windows watching planes and people go by until you saw me. And no matter what, you always had your special pineapple for me to eat. Dad and I still make our joke, "eat your pineapple!" I had some of the best memories with you and Nana on the holidays, and I couldn't ever replace those. "Papu, Papu wake up!! It's time to do your doctors check up!", I would say as I ran downstairs with dad's old Sesame Street doctor kit. Those mornings were some of the best mornings, and that's all in thanks to you. I honestly can't believe it's already been 6 years! Time goes by fast, but I can't wait until I get to see you again. So much has changed now, and I would do anything for you to be here to watch me grow up. I think you would be really proud. I've wondered how it's going with up there with Uncle Lou, Remi, Daphne, and Laska too! Keep throwing the tennis ball with them... they love it!! But finally, thank you so much for being the best grandpa any granddaughter could ask for. You mean the world to me, and I miss you so much. Keep reading the books, I love you!!! Love, Alessandra

To family of Louis Belba,
I knew Louie years ago when he lived and worked at the Andirons at Mt. Snow, also when he lived in Bennington, Vt. I used to drive from Bennington to Dover to play tennis w/ Louie-many times I did that and then take his horse racing bets to the racetrack in Pownal, Vt. Louie was a good tennis player, and he was about the only person locally I knew that played tennis. We always had lots of laughs, and he was always giving me pointers how to improve my game. I lost track of Louie when he moved to Lee area, and I became a nurse, and moved to San Diego. And Louie, I still play tennis!!! Louie always had that charisma about him you had to like. A friend from Vt.

Mary and myself met Louie about 1996 when we ran a bed and breakfast in Lee, and what a 20 year friendship with us it has been, i will miss the proud updates about Mikey ,Kasia, and his Granddaughter ,the stories about the Public house and all other place He worked, in his every changing life, he sure will be missed by all who knew him. We talked Red Sox every time we saw each other, if he saw me at work I would simple have a better day, he always said when leaving "give my love to Mary and say hi to Bigfoot( Addie my german Shepard) Love ya Kid, the candles are lit", I will think of Louie on Fenway trips and watching the games, and will miss his checking in phone calls, God Bless the Belba family, Love you Louie, the candles are lit.

Michael & family,

I'll miss your dad for sure. A great guy who always made you smile. He would tell you a joke, give you a history lesson, advice, and a cheer all at the same time. He truly brightened everyone's day with his company. I'm glad I had the chance to know him.

I had the privilege to meet Louis through my great Aunt Dot ,his next door neighbor .. He was so good to my Aunt everyday he would check on her and every evening he would bring her a snack to have with her tea. He and I became good friends and most every time I would visit my Aunt I would also get to have a visit with Louis. We had great visits talking about when he was a boy and how much he enjoyed his work for the lord. He was totally devoted to God and I know that there was a special place for him in heaven.. My Aunt Dot and I are going to miss Louis. We find great comfort knowing that he is at peace with the lord. God Bless his Family

"I found you one but he's a dollar short". I know you are probably on a mission up there looking for him Louis but I'll admit that we would be the perfect match( if only I was your age as you would say). We didn't get to see you much but when we did during the holidays there never was a dull moment. You would light up the room instantly and always had stories to tell no matter what the subject was. All I keep imagining is you with my dad on Christmas screaming Omaha (you guys were best buddies we all knew that). I know we now have you as a guardian angel. Love you dearly

So sorry to have read this....Louie stopped by my hair salon to say "hello" a few years ago, as he was in Southbridge attending a funeral. I had not seen him in several years. He still had that bubbly personality and warmth. Our sincere condolences to his family.

Yes, "who loves you like I do " is how he opened a phone conversation. He taught me how to play tennis and drive in his "green bomber". He was always happy he loved the Lord.
