Margaret Rose Powell

1947 - 2025

Mrs. Margaret Rose Powell, of Pittsfield, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, October 12, 2025, just months after celebrating her 78th birthday. Born in Pittsfield, MA, on August 3, 1947, daughter of the late Edmund and Philomena Asci Plante, she graduated from Pittsfield High School with the class of 1965. Later, Margaret earned her Associates of Arts from Berkshire Community College.

For the majority of her career, Margaret worked as a medical assistant at Dr. Schwartz's office. Following her time there, she was employed by Berkshire Gas, from where she retired in 2009 after 10 years of dedicated service.

Among many things, she was an avid reader. Margaret was an excellent cook who enjoyed making homemade meals almost as much as everybody enjoyed eating them! Above all else, she cherished her family and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Margaret is survived by her beloved husband, Bruce Powell, with whom, on August 30th, she celebrated her 56th wedding anniversary. She leaves behind her children, David (and Shauna) Powell and Micah (and Shana) Powell, as well as her grandchildren, Noah, Madison, Evelyn, Luciana, Lily, Julia, and Avery, all of whom she adored.

Funeral Notice:

Funeral services for Margaret Rose Powell will be Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 12 noon at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201. Burial will be at a later date. Calling hours at the funeral home will be directly prior to the service, from 10am to 12noon.
