Marilyn Godfrey Obituary

Marilyn E. Godfrey STEPHENTOWN, N.Y. Marilyn E. Godfrey, 60, of Acton died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, after a recent illness. Born in Concord, daughter of the late Carl R. Godfrey and Elsie M. Godfrey, she had been a resident of Acton until her illness. Ms Godfrey was a graduate of Acton Boxborough Regional High School, class of 1966. She received her bachelor of science in education from Lowell State College and a Certificate in Human Resources Management from Bentley College. She was an active member of the West Acton Baptist Church and served as recording financial secretary for many years as well as serving on various committees and teaching Sunday School. She was also a member of the Memorial Handbell Choir. Ms Godfrey had been employed as an optometric assistant for the late Dr. Donald Feltus. She had also been a technical writer for ISI Systems and Zayre Corporation. Most recently, she had been employed by Alliance Financial Services. Marilyn leaves her cousins, Leonard A. Godfrey and wife, Mary, of Acton; Stephen G. Westcott and wife, Gloria, of Stephentown; David A. Westcott and wife, Tammy, of Lydonville, Vt., and Susan Westcott Landry and husband, Peter, of Stamford, Vt. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the West Acton Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Friends of the Acton Nursing Service (FANS), P.O. Box 541, Acton, MA. 01720, or the West Acton Baptist Church, 592 Massachusetts Avenue, West Acton, MA 01720. Burial services are private.
