Marjory Verow

1921 - 2014 ADAMS Marjory Olive (Haase) Verow, 93, longtime Adams resident, died peacefully on Sunday, September 14, at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, Conn. Born in Adams on July 28, 1921, daughter of the late Herbert P. and Olive Reeves Haase, she attended Adams schools and graduated from Classical High School in Springfield. Marge also attended Chamberlain School of Fashion and Interior Design in Boston, and worked as a buyer for Filene's Department Store in the 1940's. On October 20, 1945, she married George Verow Jr., and they resided on B St in Adams for many years. She was a communicant of Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church in Adams. Marge was active in many local organizations: Adams Post 160 of the American Legion Auxiliary, the former Plunkett Hospital, Study Club, Bridge Club, throughout her life. She loved to cook and entertain, and in later years loved spending time in Naples, Fla. and Dennisport on Cape Cod. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Verow of Higganum, Conn., and was predeceased by her beloved husband, George, and her son, Steven Verow. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will take place Thursday, Sept. 18, at 12 p.m. in Notre Dame Church in Adams, celebrated by the Rev. Steven Montesanti, Pastor of St. John Paul II parishes in Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. Calling hours at the TROTTIER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
