Michael J. Rathbun

1983-2014 Mr. Michael J. Rathbun, age 30 of 139 Francis Ave. Pittsfield, was struck and killed Friday evening while walking along Center St. Pittsfield. He was born in Pittsfield, Jan. 21, 1983, the son of Sallie A. Phillips and Kenneth J. Rathbun. He attended Morningside School and Herberg Middle School prior to attending Pittsfield High School. Michael later studied and earned his GED. A line cook for several different eateries, he was employed at Daddy O's Restaurant for the past 7 years. Cooking was not only Michael's avocation, he also enjoyed to cook and prepare meals for family and friends. A huge fan of the Boston Red Sox and Dallas Cowboys, he also enjoyed playing Keno and was known to place a bet or two. In addition to his mother and father, both of Pittsfield, he is survived by his paternal grandparents, Joan and Richard Bartolomei of Peru,Ma., 2 brothers, his twin, Mark J. Rathbun, and Christopher L. Rathbun, and his sister, Kaitlyn M. Rathbun, all of Pittsfield, his uncles and aunts, Frederick M. Phillips and Brian J. Phillips, both of whom Michael made his home with, Mark and Michelle Phillips, Jeffrey and Wendy Phillips, Carl Phillips and Lori Marusarz, all of Pittsfield. He was the proud Uncle of his niece, Nya and his nephews, Devon and Christopher Jr.. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Carl and Francis Phillips. FUNERAL NOTICE: Rathbun, Michael J., died Jan. 17th. Calling hours at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME will be Friday from 4 to 7 pm with a Celebration of his Life beginning at 7:00 pm.. Burial will follow at a later date in the Pittsfield Cemetery.
