Nancy Hauser Obituary

LENOX -- Nancy Ann Hauser, 60, of 260 Pittsfield Road, Lennox Heights, died Saturday at home after a long illness. A former longtime resident of the town of Washington, she moved to Lenox in 2005.

Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 10, 1947, daughter of Francis R. Tremblay and the late Gloria Meiers Tremblay, she attended schools in Becket and was a 1965 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School. She also graduated from Hudson Valley Community College in 1967 with an associate degree in dental hygiene.

Mrs. Hauser was employed by Drs. Alfred and Kennis Ferris as a dental hygienist for more than 30 years, retiring in 2003 because of poor health.

She was an active member and communicant of the former St. Matthew's Church in Becket and served on the board of directors of the Becket Athenaeum. She enjoyed reading, sewing and collecting Boyd's Bears.

She and her husband, Donald H. Hauser, were married Dec. 15, 1968, at St. Matthew's.

Besides her husband and father, of Becket, she leaves a daughter, Greta E. Cullett of Peru; a son, Gregory F. Hauser of Charlotte, N.C.; and a brother, Keith A. Tremblay of Becket.

Dear Don, Greta, and Greg,
I was so saddened to hear the news on Saturday. When I was a child, it was always a special treat to have my neighbor as my hygienist, and Nancy was always so sweet, personally and professionally, that I felt special incentive to keep my teeth in top shape. Now, 20 years later, I only have one cavity -- and I credit Nancy for my good oral health. It's comforting for me to know that Greta and Greg, my peers, are "doing good" and serving others, much like their mom. The world is a better place because we were blessed with Nancy, and she was a model of courage, strength, and kindness. I'll miss her very much. With much love, Leana
