Pamela Diederich Obituary

Mrs. Pamela Diederich, 77, of Pittsfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2025. Born in Spokane, WA, on March 7, 1948, daughter of the late William and Mary Ann North Baker, she graduated from Arroyo High School, El Monte, CA in 1966. Pamela later earned her bachelor's degree in History from University of California Santa Barbara and then a Master of Education from UCLA.

Pamela started her career as a grade-school teacher in Los Angeles. When she became a parent she worked at home raising her two children and taking care of family and friends. She was a devoted wife and mother, a dedicated sister, aunt and daughter. She spent years as a Bluebird and Campfire Girls leader, PTA member, and Booster Club member for her children's sports teams. Later, she went to work for the Albany Presbyterian Church and worked there for many years.

Pamela and David raised their family in Albany, Oregon. She leaves behind many friends and family on the West Coast. The Willamette Valley was dear to her. She was involved in the community as a Stephen Minister and lay pastor at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She and her husband loved sailing, camping, and celebrating life with friends. They traveled with their children around the west coast and visited many of the National Parks. This is something they enjoyed well into retirement. The couple were involved with Habitat for Humanity, and were deeply committed to community service.

Pamela and David moved to Pittsfield, MA in 2005 to be close to their grandson Benjamin. Pamela was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and found community service opportunities there and at the Ralph Froyo Senior Center. She and her husband were passionate swing dancers.

Pamela is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, David Diederich, whom she married in 1971. She leaves behind her daughter, Lara Diederich-Conry; her son, Matthew Diederich; grandson Benjamin; brothers Bill (Butchie) and Mike; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Lynn and niece Letisha.
