Paul W. Grieger

Paul William Grieger, 77, of 144 Harding Ave. North Adams, died Saturday, June 12, 2004, at the Berkshire Medical Center, Pittsfield,.
Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 23, 1926, he was the son of Paul G. and Bessie (Krause) Grieger. He attended schools in Pittsfield and graduated from Pittsfield High School with the class of 1944.
He was employed for 43 years as an environmentalist and metallurgist at the General Electric Co., Pittsfield, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church of North Adams.
He loved to fish and ski and was an avid Boston Red Sox Fan.
He leaves his wife of 27 years, the former Theresa Lescarbeau, whom he married Dec. 11, 1976, at the First United Methodist Church of Williamstown; three daughters, Leslie Lauth-Torres of Alexandria, Va., and Bernadette M. “Dee Dee” Smith and Nancy Bryant, both of North Adams; two sons, Steven Grieger of Farmingham and Scott Lauth of Adams; six grandchildren, Daniel Lauth, Bryan Lauth, Rafael Torres, Marisa Torres, Justin Bryant and Darrien Smith.
A sister, Gladys Hickey, died July 7, 2003.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Paul Grieger will take place Thursday, June 17, 11 a.m., at St. John’s Episcopal Church, North Adams, with the Rev. Edward King, rector, officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.
Calling hours are Wednesday, 4-7 p.m., at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 W. Main St., North Adams.
Memorial donations may be made to the F.O.R.D. Foundation at Berkshire Medical Center or to the North Adams Ambulance Service through the funeral home.
