Penny Malachino Obituary
Penny was a registered nurse and worked at several nursing homes as Director of Nursing and then spent 22 years at BMC as a nurse with a focus on the IV Therapy team. She enjoyed quilting with friends, reading, playing cards, and watching different cooking shows. Penny was always in the kitchen cooking or baking something wonderful to share, her truest passion was to feed the people!
She leaves behind her husband, David B. Malachino, just short of their 51st anniversary, her children Misty Lynn Malachino and Nicole Marie McKeen with her husband Benjamin McKeen. Grandchildren, Case Aiken, Tyler Aiken, and Kellen McKeen. Sisters, Sharon McEwan, Laney Brady, and Barbara Malachino, amongst many loved nieces and nephews. The sweetest woman, second mom to all, she will be sorely missed and always loved.
There will be a Celebration of Life event for Penny's family and close friends on Saturday December 2nd from 12pm-3pm at the Dalton VFW.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Berkshire Humane Society or to Hinsdale Fire Department and mailed to Dery-Foley Funeral Home, 809 E. Main St., Dalton, MA 01226.

To say that I am saddened by this news would be an enormous understatement. I am beyond words over this devastating loss to her family and friends. Penny was such an amazing person. I will remember her as a fun loving friend who never let you leave her home hungry. My thoughts and prayers go out to her amazing family. God bless you.

Penny was a beautiful woman inside and out. No matter what she was going through sge was there for others whether she knew them or not. I know because when my husband was in BMC dying of lunch cancer she would always stop in to check on him and to see if I needed anything. A beautiful.woman, a caring soul and a very special lady. Dave and family, I want to express my sadness at the passing of Penny. I will never forget her kindness when, years ago, my elderly mother wouldn't eat the food I prepared her, yet she loved Penny's cooking. She was so thoughtful of others and will be missed.
