Peter Farias Obituary
1956 - 2016 Peter Michael Farias, 60, of 48 Lebanon Avenue, Pittsfield, died Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at his home. Born in Pittsfield on June 6, 1956, the son of Henry and Mildred Lazette Farias, he was a graduate of Pittsfield High School and technical school. Mr. Farias was employed by Berkshire Health Systems for 32 years where he had been a bio-medical technician and had also worked in information technology. He enjoyed tinkering with computers, fixing cars and making model cars. He also enjoyed motorcycles and race cars, and billiards. Mr. Farias leaves his wife, the former Katherine M. Chinetti, whom he married September 19, 1981. He is also survived by his son, Joseph M. Farias (and his wife, Lauren), and his daughter, Sara Raymond (and her husband, Mathew) both of East Hampton, Conn.; and his four grand- children, Haydon, Caleb, Lucas, Lila FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Peter M. Farias will be Saturday, August 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at DERY FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Berkshire Humane Society in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.

Pete and I were very close friends, having met through my VETLink #1 computer bulletin board system. From 300 baud on up to lightning-speed internet. We grew a lot together building BBS's. It was a shock to learn of his passing. Kathy and kids I know you miss a great, great man. Let me know if you need anything. I'm on standby

I work for a BHS vendor and spoke to Peter for the past 16 years. Heaven just gained another angel, he will be very missed!

Farias family,
I was saddened to hear about Pete's passing. I have fond memories of playing pool with him at J.B's. He had the most wonderful and friendly smile and he always seemed so happy. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult and sad time.

Kathy and family so sorry for your loss. Peter was a great guy I grew up with him and then we lived close by to each other. I am going to miss not seeing him in the neighborhood store he always had a smile and kind words.

I never met Peter, but knew him through facebook. We talked about racing, and he always offered me encouragement l, and kind words in my endeavor. I was very saddened to hear of his passing. He was a very kind man. RIP Peter.

Kathy and family, John Grandboise just informed me of Pete's passing, totally shocking to say the least! I will remember ALL the great times we had at Accutest. It was real easy to make Pete laugh so hard, he could hardly breathe! I wanted to ride out on the motorcycle to visit him, but it never materialized, as sometimes happens. We did have several email communications the last several years though, THAT was nice.

My heart and prayers go out to you and your family Cathy. Peter was a very dear cousin, and like a little brother to me, when growing up he was always at our house playing with my brother. I was fortuned to be able to see him at BMC as we both worked there. We were able to keep in touch over the years on Facebook. He will truly be missed by all who knew him! I guess God just needed another Angle!

I can't begin to express my shock and sadness.
Pete's smile and cheerfulness would light up a room. One of those people that was always positive, fun loving, humorous & a joy to be around.
I am so sorry that I did not stay closer to him after I retired.
Oh, for one more chance to reminisce our life experiences together. Or one more pool shoot at the Madison.

Kathy, Joseph and Sara, My heart cries today at the loss of a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. I met Pete and the family when I worked at K&J Variety. Pete always brought in the sunshine and had a smile on his face whenever he walked through the door. We became and stayed friends, even when I moved to CA. Thanks to Facebook we were able to continue our friendship and we would chat often. Pete will always be in my heart, as he was one of those "once in a lifetime friends". I am sending thoughts and prayers in hope of bringing some comfort during this very sad time. Pete is Walking in the Sunlight with the Spirit. Rest In Peace my friend, rest in peace.
