Robert Bailot Obituary

ADAMS -- Robert E. Bailot, 74, of 3 Myrtle St. died Sunday of lung cancer at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, where he was admitted April 6.

Born in Adams on Oct. 3, 1929, son of Alfred F. and Mildred Jepson Bailot, he graduated from the former Adams High School in 1947.

A Navy veteran, he enlisted in 1947 and served on the USS Callo. He was honorably discharged in 1950 with as an electrician's mate, third class.

Mr. Bailot was the owner and operator of a wholesale art company, selling paintings to commercial and professional institutions. He retired in 1987.

He attended St. Thomas' Church.

He leaves four sons, Michael Bailot of Sao Paolo, Brazil, Gerry Bailot and John Bailot, both of St. Louis, and Robert Bailot of Chicago; two daughters, Pamela Braet of Wildwood, Mo., and Kathy Bailot of Valencia, Spain; a sister, Bernice Foster of Rowe, 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He also leaves his former wife, Joan Franchini Bailot of St. Louis.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Following cremation, an inurnment service for Robert E. Bailot, who died April 25, 2004, will take place Saturday, May 1, at noon at the family plot in Maple Street Cemetery in Adams. McBRIDE FUNERAL SERVICE is in charge of arrangements.
