Robert Pruyne Obituary

Robert "Bob" Charles Pruyne, Sr., 74 of Lanesborough, passed away after a long illness on March 8, 2025 at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Pittsfield on June 8, 1950 he was the son of Warren and Mildred Goetz Pruyne Mickle. Robert attended Lanesborough schools and was a 1968 graduate of Mt. Greylock Regional High School.

Bob married the former Linda S. Lyon on April 11, 1970.

He worked as a machinist for 25 years at General Electric. In his spare time, he could often be found in the woods hunting, at the front of his bass boat, or ice fishing. Bob enjoyed creating and maintaining extensive gardens at his home. Throughout the years his Labrador retrievers gave him an endless number of smiles. Bob was known to say, "If I had a nickel for every tail wag..." Bob was a member of the Berkshire chapter of BASS and enjoyed tournament fishing. He loved riding his Harley and was a member of the Berkshire HOG chapter.

Mr. Pruyne is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda S. Pruyne of Lanesborough; two children: Tammi E. Haines and husband Robert of Berlin, NY, and Robert C. Pruyne, Jr., and wife Jessica Premo-Etter of Newmarket, NH. Two grandchildren also survive him: Samantha Haines and Alida Pruyne; a brother, Fran W. Mickle and wife Bonnie of Lanesborough; and a sister, Barbara E. Proper and husband Myron of Cheshire. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother Wayne W. Mickle and sister Mildred A. Bilotta.

Funeral Notice: Funeral home services will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 4 p.m. at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA. Calling hours will precede the service from 2 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the New England Organ Bank in care of the funeral home. Bob was both an organ recipient and an organ donor. There is a planned graveside service and celebration of life in the spring. The family asks that you hug your loved ones tight and send loving energy to the world to share.
