The best times of my childhood were spent in Adams with my Aunt and Uncle. I learned so much from both of these two special people and I have used the lessons taught to me all of my life. Many a nights I spent playing cards with my Aunt Rose drinking her home made root beer. She was so good at everything she did and I always felt a special bond with her during those years.

We spent many hours in the fields together picking blackberries and busting up the sod by hand to plant a huge garden. I learned how to cultivate a garden, how to care for the crops and how to harvest them. I also learned how to care for farm animals, milk cows and prepare live chickens for tonights dinner. All of this my Aunt Rose taught me, and much more.

Unfortunately time and distance has a way of separating individuals and we grew apart. Still I have always and will always carry the memories of my teenage years living and working side by side with my Aunt and Uncle. No better place existed for a young boy, and no better teachers ever lived.
