NORTH ADAMS -- Shirley Ann Shea, 74, formerly of 93 Cleveland Ave., died yesterday at Williamstown Commons, where she had resided for three years.
Born in North Adams on June 21, 1930, daughter of Howard E. and Dorotha A. Tyrell Rice, she received her high school equivalency diploma from Charles H. McCann Technical School. She resided in Kingstown, R.I., for many years, returning to Berkshire County in 1992.
Mrs. Shea had worked at several drug stores in the area, including the former Reichlin and Dox drug stores, and at the former Sears Store on Main Street and the former Wall-Streeter Shoe Co., before moving to Kingstown.
She and her husband, Paul L. Shea, were married April 19, 1972, in Williamstown.
Besides her husband, she leaves three daughters, Kathy Wilson of Warwick, R.I., Mary Dornberger of Tacoma, Wash., and Maryellen Madison of East Greenwich, R.I.; four sons, Thomas O'Brien of Adams, Joseph O'Brien of Newport, R.I., David Shea of Deltona, Fla., and Shawn O'Brien of Portland, Maine; a sister, Phyllis Harris of Arizona; 13 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Another daughter, Laurie McNiff, died in February 1988.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Shirley Ann Shea, who died May 3, 2005, will be celebrated Saturday at 6 p.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, by the Rev. Robert Moulton, deacon of the Parishes of Notre Dame-St. Thomas and St. Stanislaus in Adams. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested for the American Cancer Society through the funeral home.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
