Stephen Haczela Obituary

Stephen F. Haczela 1947 - 2010 PITTFIELD Stephen Francis Haczela, 63, of West Street, formerly of Savoy, died Friday morning, Sept. 3, 2010, at the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Adams on June 1, 1947, he was son of Jennie Ordyna Haczela and the late John Haczela. Mr. Haczela spent much of his time at the Boroco Recreational Facility in Pittsfield where he enjoyed painting, recreational day trips and riding his bike along the Ashuwillticook Trail. He participated for many years in the Special Olympics, winning various medals in different events. Mr. Haczela was a communicant of the former St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Adams. He enjoyed his family at West Street and Boroco. Besides his mother of Savoy, he leaves three sisters, Theresa Massey and her husband, Richard, and Dorothy Powers, all of Savoy, and Frances Welz of Adams; one brother, John Haczela, Jr., and his wife, Gay, of Savoy, and many nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: Private services for Stephen Francis Haczela will take place Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, from the TROTTIER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams., with the Rev. David Raymond, pastor of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery in Adams. There are no calling hours.
