Our sincere condolences to all the Southard family. Steve came into our lives every summer as he stopped by to fix someting and visit. We loved the amazing stories of his adventures usually including a "close call"doing some job by himself. I always believed he had 9 lives. Finally he can rest. He took care of our old house, kept it together, cared about it, made us aware of how important it was. As I look back, he gave us an identity as keepers of the place. That has made all the difference. Thank you Steve. You are always in our hearts. McLoughlin/Farrell family

RIP Mr. Southard! I will always remember the time you laughed at me and Kim when we changed the tire in your driveway after I tried to break out sideways and bring it back around in Bobby's GTO on upper Valley Rd. (It didn't go quite as planned) lol. Then there were all the times at the coffee counter at the General! Mrs. Southard,, Kim, Lori, Steve Jr, Ricky, and Larry I am so sorry for your loss, having lost my Dad 4 years ago I know the feeling of that loss all to well! Hugs to you all! I wish I could say it gets easier...... I guess I will say you learn how to live with the loss better each passing day! I still miss my Dad every day and I have good days and bad days I am sure he is reunited with Randy in heaven Hopefully that will give you some comfort! Sending up special prayers for healing hearts for you all! Love Janet

To Mrs Southard, Lori and ALL the rest of Mr Southard’s family and friends, I am very sorry. Lori had helped my family, on more than one hospital discharge and I’m relieved to see that Mr Southard was able to be at j hi one with his family. It’s hard, no matter what, but it’s so much nicer you could be with him 24/7. That’s important.
My deepest condolences. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Uncle Steve may have left this earth but he has left a wonderful legacy in the family he left behind. He instilled in each of his children to be hard workers and solid citizens. He will be remembered by all of us who knew him and when we do, we will smile. That was our Uncle Steve, a very unique man.

Steve was definitely a one-of-a-kind "character". We enjoyed many in-depth conversations about life and work and difficulties, always interspersed with his unique witty remarks. He was a hard worker, who loved his family, and at times, wore his heart on his sleeve. My love goes out to Joan, Kim, Steve, Larry, Lori and all who loved him. May he be strumming with abandon and a big grin on his face.

Well, well, well, Mr. Southard. I have never met you, but I have heard so much about you. First, thank you for your service, Sir..........
Kim. You did it!! I'm so happy that you were able to bring your dad back home, to the place he loved the most. As hard as this has been on you, you showed us your strength and determination and i believe I know who you got that from! :) I'm so happy that he's able to rest now and I hope you can too, knowing that you took really good care of him.
I know you're hurting, having to say good-bye and for that, I'm really sorry........
Peace and love to you and your family.
