So sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. He was a close friend of my brother Eric (also sadly gone) in their teenage years. He always made us laugh. May the happy memories which seem like many, comfort you.

Steve grew and sold wheatgrass and sprout supplies. We met through business interests and later through same type airplane ownership. We would attend airplane shows in Oshkosh and Fla.. Steve was a real nice guy to be with and easy to do business with. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Steve was, by any metric I can think, a good man, a positive force in life. So sorry his life was cut short so cruelly.

I just read an article in tribute to Steve in "Healing our World" volume 35 issue 4 published by the Hippocrates Health Institute in West Palm Beach Florida. I personally bought his sprout bags and enjoyed reading a previous article that Mr. Meyerowitz wrote in that magazine. May his legacy live on regarding the importance of all sprouts, and may you rest in peace.

I miss knowing Steve is here on earth with us. It seems so sad and unfair. He was the kindest most generous teacher. I will continue to practice what I learned from him. Thank you Steve.

I am sad that Steven has passed away. It is because of him that I started sprouting and improving my health.
My deepest sympathies for the family.

We first met Steve when he moved from an acting career to health and nutrition.I am not sure of the exact dates but it was probably in the mid "70's. We had started manufacturing electric WHEATGRASS JUICERS doing business as Sundance Industries, Steve was an eager proponent of Wheatgrass and one of our best customers. We watched as his career blossomed and interests diversified.
Steve and Alden were both members of the CARDINAL FLYERS Online, an organization of pilots who owned the same type of Cessna airplane.
Our loss of Steve leaves the world a poorer place. We will all miss him.

Having lost my brother who was 62 years old in August, I can imagine what your family is dealing with losing Steve so young, and so vibrant. He was a great gift to the world - I attended a few of his talks, chatted with him, and use the information I learned from him on a regular basis. Wishing you all peace and strength.

Oh Beth, not sure if you remember me. I worked at the sprouthouse when I lived on Riverside in the same building in the early 80s. I remember meeting you. Steve was just a lovable person, you are so fortunate to have had all these years together but he is gone far too soon. I am so sorry for your loss, have such wonderful memories of working with Steve. Big hug to you. Love from Jeff also.

I've worked with Steve for just over a year now. While I had never met Steve in person, his kindness, generosity, and warm spirit was so profoundly evident in my conversations with him. He cared deeply about his family and about helping people become healthier. I admire him so much and am completely heartbroken by the loss.

I am wishing you my sympathy in your grief. Although we have never met, I read about your husband many years ago since both my husband and I were into healthy eating and pioneering a new way of eating. Steve with his sprouts and Gunter with his tempeh. If you would ever like to contact me to share stories, I am here to help you shoulder your grief since Gunter passed away on May, 2, 2015.
Peace be always with you

Steve was such a wonderful influence on me when I lived in the Berkshires back in the 80s - I STILL use many of the recipes he personally taught me and teach them to others always mentioning their "Sproutman" origins. I adore he and his family. I've run into him over the years at events, but just last week we had been corresponding about having him on our show, and I devastated to hear of this news. He had so much light to bring to this world and I know my world was always a bit brighter after spending time with him. I will personally do my best to keep his legacy of health and vitality shining in this world. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

In the last 5 years I have known Steve, he has always extended a gracious smile, kindness, generosity, and pure acceptance. I feel tremendous gratitude for knowing him and embracing his character full heartedly. May all the Meyerwitz family members move through the grief and into the grace of gratitude.

Steve was such a kind and positive person. I always looked forward to seeing him at the Natural Products Expo and other veggie events. Once in a while I also would bump into him in Great Barrington and we'd catch up on what each other had been up to. I'll truly miss him.

Steve was such a wonderful, warm and positive person. Whether running into him
while he was overwhelmingly busy at Natural Products Expo or in Great
Barrington, he always had time for a warm greeting and catching up. A true mensch.

Steve was my friend and I loved seeing him at events because he was so extraordinary at being Sproutman, the lovable character in the grass hat with a smile as wide as the sky. He could light up a room with his warm heart and he will be missed. My deepest respect and sympathy is extended to the family and friends of this inspired man. I'm so saddend by his sudden and tragic passing, but I will continue with even more energy in remembrance of all he so generously shared with me (and so many others). He will be missed greatly, but never forgotten, as he has changed the course of health for so many. Om

My Deepest Condolences to friends and family of Steve. I worked for him in the NYC apt in early 80's. No words to describe all the positive influence I gained from that time, and thus total shock to hear of his tragic and untimely death. May he rest in peace and his profound message carry on far and wide.

Mia and I wanted to extend our deepest condolences to you, Beth, and your family. We remember fondly our encounters with you and Steve, and he was a positive and cheerful presence in the Vegfests I attended. He was so full of life; it's very shocking that he should die so suddenly and so prematurely. With much sympathy.

Dear Beth and children, I cannot believe what has happened. It even strikes me, from accross the ocean. I want share that I still have fond memories of talking to Steve at the kitchen table, so many years ago. I even tried to reconnect last year or so, via his website. When I eat and grow sprouts Steve comes to mind, almost always. And I also have the fondest memories of you, driving and teaching Emil, Beth. God bless and be with you on your further journey without Steve by your sides, on earth, that is. My love, Joke (Yoka)Wijker

Dearest Beth,
You don't know me, but when I saw your name, I realized I knew you. You were just an infant when I babysat for you in Merrick, LI. I guess I was about 14? When I saw your name, and your mom and dad as well, it confirmed that indeed, you are the same sweet Beth. Our lives have taken us both to the Berkshires, and while I was familiar with Steve, I did not know him. Only his reputation which is incomparable. My heart breaks for you and your family at this profound loss. I wish you all peace and solace during this difficult time.

I am saddened at the passing of Steve. He was a great human being and one who left his mark of love and caring on the planet. I have spent time with Steve at so many Health Expo events where we both spoke to educate people about the benefits of raw and living sprouted foods. He always had a warm smile and a friendly way that made you glad to be around him. I send you my heartfelt prayers and love during this difficult time. Please know that he will be missed by many thousands and most likely millions of people who were touched by his generosity and wealth of knowledge. Sending you love and blessings and remembering the family in my prayers. Brenda Cobb, Founder Living Foods Institute, Atlanta, Ga.

Steve will forever be missed for his great warmth, joy in life, light-heartedness, enthusiasm, brilliant creativity...insightful, healing wisdom and helping spirit. He was one of a kind and has enriched the lives of so many, including my own...I was greatly fortunate to have studied with him and to have been inspired by him in his apartment in NY in the 1970's...and up until recently with his superlative on-line courses. His detox course, I think, was the best anywhere. He was a great friend, mentor, and example for countless others to follow. Steve left behind a timeless legacy with his books, courses, inventions and teachings. He was an icon, and now, with a continuing impact, let him be also a legend for the future raw, sprout-filled living foods movement globally. Prayers and blessing to Steve's family and friends in this time of greatest grief. May their heavy hearts and sorrow be lighted and softened by knowing how well Steve was appreciated and how many lives he deeply touched.
