Victor Biasin Obituary

Victor Biasin Sr. 1929 - 2009 GREAT BARRINGTON Victor J. Biasin, Sr., 79, of 15 Cottage St., Great Barrington, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009, at Great Barrington Healthcare Center. Born in Lee on Nov. 13, 1929, son of John and Rosina Feltre Biasin, he attended schools in Lee. During the Korean War he proudly served his country with the Army, stationed in Alaska. He worked in shipping and receiving for over 40 years for Mead Paper Co. His wife, the former Mary T. Kot, whom he married on Aug. 22, 1953, died July 23, 2008. He was a communicant at St. Peter's Church. Victor was a member of the Southern Berkshire Bowling Association at the Cove, Tri State, and North End Leagues. He bowled a 300 in 1969. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the New York Yankees. He also enjoyed local sports. He leaves two sons, Victor, Jr., and his wife, Alison, of Pittsford, Vt., William and his wife, Wendy, of Great Barrington; one daughter, Ann Marie Holian, and her husband, Patrick, of Lee; one brother, John Biasin, of Sanford, Maine; two sisters, Rosina Biasin of Framingham and Lucy Lossow of Natick; four grandchildren, Kristina Biasin, of Pittsfield, Victor Biasin III of Sheffield, and Emily and Nicholas Holian, of Lee, and three great-grandchildren, Brittany and Alyssa Jakacky and Courtney Perkins, and all his friends at Pete's Motors. Besides his wife, Mary, Victor was predeceased by one brother, Silvio. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be on Saturday, Sept. 19, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, with the Rev. William P. Murphy, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME. Expressions of sympathy in Victor's memory may be made to either Elder Services or to the American Cancer Society, both in care of the Birches-Roy Funeral Home, 33 South Street, Great Barrington, MA. 01230.
