LENOX -- Wallace Ellsworth Bennett Jr., 67, of Tyler, Texas, a native of Pittsfield, died Saturday at the University of Texas after a brief illness.
Born on Jan. 19, 1939, son of Wallace and Ida Tucker Bennett, he attended local schools. He lived in Lenox for many years before moving to Tyler.
He enjoyed fishing.
His wife, the former Joanna Johnston, is deceased.
He leaves a son, Samuel; a daughter, Joan; and three sisters, Ida Bennett and Annie Bennett, both of Lenox, and Gertrude Tucker of Pittsfield.
