Wanda Baer Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wanda (Lee) Leanora Baer of Riverside, CT, on November 28, 2023, shortly after her 90th Birthday.

Lee was born and raised in Long Island, NY, daughter of Francis (Helen) Baer and Richard Baer. She moved to New York City, where she lived and worked for many years. Lee was the first in her family to graduate from University, with a Degree of Bachelor of Arts from Fordham University. She later retired to Riverside, CT and was an active member of the Hill House community.

Lee's zest for life was evident in her love for travel, her passion for music and fashion, and her avid reading. Paris held a special place in her heart, as did Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra. Lee loved to ski, and Vermont was a favorite destination.

Lee was predeceased by her bothers Richard (Joan) and George (Ann) Baer, and her nephews Jeffrey and Michael Baer. She is survived by her nephews Christopher (Joann), Richard, John, and Mark Baer. She was loved and will be missed by her great nieces and nephew Bobby, Brynn (Tara) and Raegan Baer (Erin).

A celebration of life will be held in the spring in Stockbridge MA and in January at Hill House.

May she rest in eternal peace, her spirit forever alive in the hearts of those who loved her.
