I could probably write a book about some of the crazy things we did as kids growing up on Park Street, but what I´ll miss most about Billy is his quick wit and his ability to find humor in just about any situation. Oh, how he could make us laugh! Rest easy, big brother; you battled valiantly and inspired all of us with your courage and determination. Through it all, you never lost your sense of humor. We will miss you. Godspeed...

Beth and Billy´s Children, I am so sorry to hear of Billy´s passing. I knew Billy as part of the first wave of Betty and Bill´s nine kids. We didn´t know each other well, only through the occasional meeting at our grandparents´ house. My parents later came to know him much better though as the radiation therapist who took care of my dad as he fought bone cancer. Both my mom and dad spoke highly of his kindness and skill during those trying sessions. My dad especially was grateful to know that he was being taken care of by his talented nephew. And...to be distracted from the process by endless discussions about their cars!
Rest assured that the Lord has brought him home to be reunited with all of his loving family that passed before him.

There were many days when we lived in Lanesborough that I would drive by the hospital and, if it were lunchtime, I would usually see Bill outside taking a walk around the complex. He was a fit, driven and motivated guy to whom I gave a lot of respect. Often if I was walking on the bike path along Cheshire Lake, possibly late afternoon, I would gaze at the beautiful scenery, as well as the lake itself,
and many times would recognize him and his canoeing partner practicing for a race. His dedication to his fitness regimen always paid off as he won several major races and was an Iron Man to boot. He was an Iron-willed Iron Man mastering many talents. And now he has crossed the finish line winning the greatest prize of all, everlasting life in Paradise.

There are certain people who leave a lasting mark on our lives, not just through their presence but through the way they embrace the world, Bill was one of those people. He was a steady paddler in the current, and a trusted companion on the water,
Together, along with our great group of friends, we explored the bends and stretches of the Housatonic River in Berkshire County-laughing, and soaking in the quiet beauty that only a canoeist truly understands. Whether it was the stillness of an early morning paddle or the camaraderie of a full-day adventure, Bill made every trip richer with his presence. His easygoing nature made him a joy to paddle with.
His passing leaves a deep void, but I will always carry the memories of those shared journeys-the sound of paddles dipping into the water, the stories told along the way, and the sheer joy of being out there together. I know I´m not alone in feeling this loss, and my heart goes out to his family. May they find comfort in knowing how deeply he was loved and how many lives he touched.
Rest easy, my friend. The river carries you onward, and we will always remember you in its flow.
