William Wright Obituary

William R. Wright

1938-2009 PITTSFIELD Mr. William Wright, 71, of 40 Dartmouth St., died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at Berkshire Medical Center. He was born in Camden, N.J., on May 17, 1938, the son of the late Samuel and Jennie Market Wright.

He came to Pittsfield as a child and attended Pittsfield Schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1956. He was employed by the General Electric Company for 25 years in the former Power Transformer Department and he retired in 1996. He enjoyed doing cross word puzzles, watching football games on television and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife the former Gertrude Zazza and they were married on Oct. 11, 1958, two sons, Brian Wright and his wife Colleen of Pittsfield, and Thomas Wright and his wife, Robyn of Newington, Conn.., six grandchildren, Abigail, Andrew, Amanda, Audrey-Ann, Victoria and Chandler Wright. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam Era and served with the U.S. Army.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for William R. Wright will take place Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA with the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker C.S.S. officiating . Cremation will follow. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday, from 10 a.m. to the time of the service.
