Deborah "Deb" L. Patterson
July 7, 1955 - March 19, 2024
Deborah L. "Deb" Patterson, age 68 of Big Rapids, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024 with her beloved husband Bob at her side. She was born July 7, 1955 in Big Rapids, the daughter of Dale and Marcella (Moore) Bell. Deb was raised near Bell's Corner in Mecosta County and attended Chippewa Hills High School graduating in 1973. Following high school Deb worked for the Chippewa Hills School District, the Big Rapids Pioneer and later joined the Patterson's Flowers family business. She married Bob Patterson on November 7, 1992 in Reed City and together they made their home in Big Rapids.
Deb was a member of the Reed City United Methodist Church, The Big Rapids Business and Professional Women's Club, and The Mecosta County Community Foundation, where she enjoyed serving as a mentor for the MCYAC group. She was involved with the Great Lakes Floral Association and was a huge support to her husband Bob in his role as a passionate volunteer for local youth camps.
They enjoyed traveling to floral shows and conventions but especially loved the annual family trips to Disney World. Deb will be affectionally remembered by the many friends she made working alongside Bob at Patterson's Flowers. She always greeted customers with a warm smile and worked joyfully to make them feel special.
Deb will be forever missed by her beloved family including her devoted husband, Robert "Bob" Patterson; sister, Lori Bell of Big Rapids; mother-in-law, Gloria Patterson of Reed City; sister-in-law, Joleen (Dale) Golden of Lakeland, FL; brother-in-law, Brad (Dawn) Patterson of Morley; nieces and nephews, Shawn (Mel) Golden of Texas, Jennifer (Andy) Baker of Florida, Amanda (Matt) Kincade of Florida, Cayla (Rob) Patterson of Michigan; great-nieces and great-nephews, Elli, Caden, Mia, Lilli, Drew, Gabbi, Mallory, Parker, Harrison; many loving cousins, extended family and Debs faithful companion Daisy the dog.
Deb was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law, Don Patterson.
Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2024 at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with her brother-in-law Pastor Dale A. Golden officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to funeral service and on Sunday, March 24th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Deb will be laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery in Reed City.
Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Deb's memory may do so to either Manna Pantry of Big Rapids or the Great Lakes Floral Foundation both of which Deb enjoyed giving her faithful support.
